Biden's Blunders

Biden is a walking disaster. I can't believe they don't force HIM to speak solely on a teleprompter. The guy is a total and complete PR disaster. But on the flip side, I kinda like his loose lips...he gives me a better idea of what the White House is really thinking...

Exhibit A: Upon visiting a custard shop in Wisconsin (mmmm, custard), Biden asked the owner what he owed him. The owner said, "Don't worry, it's on us...Lower our taxes and we'll call it even."  I actually think it's quite a witty and legitimate comment! Wanna know what Biden said,

"Why don't you say something nice instead of being a smartass all the time?"

AWESOME. Any citizen or business owner interested in a lower tax bill is now a smart-aleck.

Exhibit B: On this same trip at a fundraising event for Senator Feingold, he said:

"There's no possibility to restore the 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession."

You gotta love that optimism! But at least he and I are on the same page.  There really is no way Obama-nomics creates wealth and jobs.

Exhibit C: Later at this same fundraising event he said:

This administration "inherited a god-awful mess."

Again with the blame. I'm absolutely sick of it as an answer to our current economic disaster. I'm trying to figure out at what point people realize the Obama Administration turned an economic downturn into an economic recession, with no hope for us or our grandchildren to ever dig out.

And a side note, the guy has absolutely NO tact.

Biden: Downplays Palin / Takes Credit for Iraq

"Governor Palin appeals to a group of people who are generally frustrated, feel disenfranchised, [and] are very conservative...She has appeal beyond that as well, but I don’t know that it represents anything approaching a significant portion of the population.”

Wake up Biden!!  This whole country is getting frustrated and disenfranchised!

I couldn't let this go today.  Biden cracks me up. 

On Larry King last night not only did he convey his distaste for Palin, but...

Biden also took credit for the war in Iraq:

  

"I'm very optimistic about Iraq...this can be one of the great achievements of this Administration."

Oh man, this deserves about 300 eye-rolls.  

Both Biden and Obama have vehemently opposed the war in Iraq since it started. 

 They even thought it was better to claim defeat and walk.  

Oh, but wait...now they want to take credit.

The War began in March 2003.

We've been at war just shy of SEVEN years.

Obama's been in office ONE of those years.

Are they deserving of the credit?

P-uh-lease.  

And as to Palin, I certainly believe she is a bit unpolished, but give the girl some time.  She is just getting started. Matt Latimer (former presidential speech-writer) was on the Michael Medved Show today and had positive things to say about Palin.   Here is some of his advice:

"Throughout my time in politics, I've heard various "facts" reported about Republican leaders.  Ronald Reagan was a dope, George W. Bush couldn't put two sentences together...Donald Rumsfeld was a fire-breathing monster.  None of those things were true.  I know because with the exception of Reagan, I met them all. 

"Now we hear that Sarah Palin is a moron who can't possibly win the GOP nomination for president.  I don't know the governor at all, but if history is any guide, that might not be true either.  And Sarah Palin did something that no one else in the Republican Party has managed to do for some time -- excite voters and get their attention. That's not nothing."  

I jumped on the Palin bandwagon after I found out she RETURNED stolen taxpayer money to Alaska residents after uncovering corruption between Alaska Representatives and Oil Companies.  Plus she revamped oil tax policy to protect the money.  I'm not ashamed.  She takes on the big guns...plus, she knows how to use a gun.

Botox-ed Biden?

At the beginning of the State of the Union speech I was doing some major multi-tasking: dinner prep, keeping kids happy, chatting with a visitor...and trying to pay attention and catch the bullet points.

But my attention kept being diverted from Mr. President and drawn to Biden's goofy grin.

Do you think he had Botox recently and just couldn't NOT smile?

Do you think he had a copy of the speech and knew where the planned applause would be?

Was it just me or was he the first to clap?

It was the highlight humor of the entire speech for me....

Which goes to show the "root canal" comment was lame.

Lame. Lame.
